Practical Information
A Short Description
The museum has an extensive collection of models, canons, and other objects
related to seafaring down through the ages, and in particular relating to
the French Navy. In particular, it has models from the 17th century
(the earliest is by Colbert in 1678) down through the present day.
Among its prized possessions is a series of 13 images of French ports by
Vernet, as well as a barge commissioned for Napoléon.
