• We stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights in March 99. It was well placed in a very pleasent quarter of Paris about 10 minutes from Notre Dame. There are many bars and restaurants within easy reach so we had no problem recommending the location.The hotel was clean and the rooms were OK for size for 2 adults. The bath facilities we also respectable for 3 nights. The staff were pleasant. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the street and we needed ear plugs to sleep. Paris is noisy as one would expect for such a central location. If we were to go there again we would ask for a room at the back. At about 500FF the night for 2 I think it was acceptable and I think its location to most of the centre of Paris made up for its simplicity. I would not suggest you ignore this hotel but maybe the more refined traveller would try elsewhere.

• I have been there several visits to Paris. It is a very nice hotel and it has probably the lowest rates for single rooms in the *** category (abt. FF 300 for a single room with shower/toilet and color TV). Even the (simple but cheap) breakfest was worth taking it.

• I stayed at the Compostelle in 2000 and 2001. Double room with view on the street were great. Single room were simple but cheap. The staff were extremly friendly and honest to me. they remembered me from the previous year and made huge effort to retraace me in France after I forgot something at there hotel. The location can't be better, it is close from everything.

• I stayed here for 4 nights in June 2000 and had a wonderful time. The staff were helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. Very reasonable price compared with other hotels in Paris, especially in the 4th. Central & beautiful Place Des Vosges nearby.

• (12/03) I found this hotel by walking the streets in the quartier to find a better deal than the awful hotel I stayed in the 1st night. It was the best value for the area. The staff was professional and kind. It's not the George V but I felt safe and the location is great as are the restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay there again.
