• My wife and I chose to come to Paris on our honeymoon. I had studied French for several years, and Paris was my first choice; however, my wife knew no French and knew very little about Paris, so I was somewhat concerned that she wouldn't enjoy herself on our honeymoon. I could not have been more wrong. She and I both loved our stay in this wonderful city. Part of what helped to make our vacation so enjoyable was our stay at the Mayfair hotel. The friendly, helpful staff recommended several restaurants and brasseries in the area; additionally, their continental breakfast was delicious. I have never had better tasting bread, croissants, and hot chocolate. The few things I would change about the hotel would be -- 1) While the hotel does have air-conditioning, it had been turned off for the winter while my wife and I were there. With both of us being hot-natured, we had to open the balcony door a few times to cool off the room. 2) While the hotel does have internet access, it is via the television, which we had trouble using. Also, I had no use for my laptop that I brought along with me. 3) The television reception was spotty at times, and featured a limited selection of channels, with almost no channels in English. Overall, however, the location of this hotel (right off the Rue de Rivoli) and its price were a very good combination for my wife and me, and worked out perfectly. -Dan.
